Talk for Writing

The Orange room children are beginning their new Talk for Writing adventure.
On Thursday afternoon the children were very excited as when they returned to the classroom there was a padlocked present from Mrs Van Wyk (our Talk for Writing whizz). The gift had a note attached saying that they had been doing such brilliant work that they deserved a present. The only problem was, we didn’t have a key to unlock the present. After a little think we went on a journey around the school to see if anyone else had a key that would unlock our present. Our first stop was with Mrs Van Wyk herself, but she didn't have the key. We asked lots more adults and children around the school but to no avail. Until, someone suggested that Dawn had lots of keys and perhaps we should check with her. Luckily enough, Dawn had a mysterious key appear on her desk that morning and that key was the one we needed!! Inside was a lovely book called ‘Commotion in the Ocean'. When we returned to the Orange room, we got comfy in our reading corner and shared the story together. We can't wait to see what the rest of our Talk for Writing involves this term.
